The publication of djeribi's installation in the Project Arts Centre, Dublin, Ireland, 2001. The artist reflects upon her past life as points in time marked by her encounters with the wardrobes in the successive rooms she has inhabited. The remains of those encounters are presented, each facing a short narrative text.
The objects thus become museum exhibits separated from the artists past experiences, ready to be recognized by the reader as fragments of his/her own past.
This project is an exploration of memory as it is fixed by the objects that trigger it. We remember, not through the complex narrative and sequence of our lives rather through a floating assortment of visual/tactile and olfactory memories. Through collected objects we can trace our life.
